Childhood Memories and the Cyclops

Today I will:

-Define a new vocabulary word, and develop an example, non-example, draw a picture and develop a showing sentence using the vocabulary word.
-Describe a childhood memory using show-not-tell writing and sensory imagery by writing a paragraph.
-Read, analyze, and annotate “The Cyclops” with a focus on the characteristics of a hero
-Examine multiple representations of a cyclops, write observations, and make predictions about Odysseus’ encounter with the cyclops

Today's Agenda:
1. Begin Bellwork Vocab formidable and distress
2. Writing: Childhood memories (Follow the instructions on the slideshow, discuss with your cyclops partner, then complete the work in Google classroom.) STOP AT SLIDE 6! On The Slideshow.
Only do a paragraph for the first box, Scary or Funny.
4. Honors: Motif instruction-Get Handout from teacher (follow instructions on page 3) 
5. Cyclops Pre-reading: Go to Google Classroom, complete the assigned form, and turn it in.


Homework:
-ALL: Finish Cyclops Pre-reading on Google Classroom
-Honors: Complete one Dialectical Journal entry for your novel - due Thursday, 4/20
